Hello, I’m Ona —
I’m glad you’re here.

I’m a mother of two beautiful daughters and have shared my life with my partner, Tavis, for nearly a decade. I was born and raised in the mountains of Oregon, where I developed a deep appreciation for nature, hard work, and the quiet moments that remind us what truly matters.

In 2009 I began working in senior care, and shortly after shifted into memory care — where I would spend years growing through nearly every role on the floor. I started as a dishwasher and caregiver in assisted living, and over time became a Medication Technician, Activities Director, Resident Care Coordinator, and Medication Room Manager, while also stepping in to support our Executive Director with a wide range of responsibilities. Those years taught me that true care isn’t measured only by medical tasks, but by presence, compassion, and treating every person with dignity.

Over the years, I have held countless hands during life’s final moments, administered medications, provided one-on-one end-of-life care, supported grieving families, and sat quietly beside people as they took their last breath. Those experiences have shaped not only the caregiver I am today, but the person I strive to be.

Outside of my work, you’ll often find me tending my garden, baking, creating herbal remedies from plants I’ve grown and harvested, or exploring the Oregon mountains that have always felt like home. I believe healing often begins with slowing down, listening deeply, and finding beauty in life’s simplest moments.

I welcome and honor people of every faith, culture, belief system, and spiritual tradition. Every person’s journey is unique, and it is a privilege to support each family with compassion, respect, and an open heart.

Emberlight Services was created from the belief that every life deserves to be honored, every story deserves to be remembered, and every family deserves the opportunity to be fully present with the people they love.

The Emberlight Legacy Collection Journal is the heart of Emberlight Services and the signature of our care. Included with each qualifying care plan, it is far more than a journal — it is a guided journey through a person’s life: their memories, relationships, values, accomplishments, and the hopes that still remain.

Each week, we dedicate intentional one-on-one time to meaningful conversation, documenting the stories, wisdom, and experiences that have shaped your loved one’s life. Together, we create a keepsake your family will treasure for generations.

But the journal doesn’t stop with reflection. As we learn what matters most, we begin discovering the wishes that still live in the heart — the conversations waiting to happen, the places worth revisiting, the traditions worth passing on. When possible, we help bring those wishes to life.
